Name: Sabina van Loon
Location: Gouda, Netherlands Certifications through Angel's Animals: Canine Kinesiology Taping When did you decide that you wanted to work with animals? 15 years ago I started breeding dogs, Bull terriers! Of course I wanted to do this well, and I started to study health. We've always fed the dogs raw (BARF) and I wanted to transfer that to the people who went home with a puppy. Also I had a lot questions about vaccinations. I was very interested in because I knew that this could never be good and because of that I started reading and asking more and more. However, there was no market in the Netherlands at that time ... I have read a lot and find out the American authors and I knew, I have to tell this to other dog owners. A while later, one of my own dogs was hit by a car when she was 1 year old, and she is emotionally very damaged, and got complaints that the regular vet could not handle. I started searching on the Internet and there I came across TTouch. At first I thought it was a bit weird, and did not think it could work. Still, I went to a workshop (but without a dog) and the teacher told me that I quickly got the ‘move’ , and that I would be suitable to do the training. After much deliberation, I did that, and am fully graduated TTouch Practitioner. But I also understood that TTouches were based on something, and that it worked extra well in specific places, for specific complaints and emotional disbalances. This was the Acupressure. Because I was so struck by it, I started doing a training there, and from there I started doing Cranio sacral therapy with which I am now also fully educated. During the studies I visited a lot of people at their home, but this became so busy that I quickly opened a practice- I knew Kinesiotape for humans, because I used to work at a physiotherapist office. I came across Kinesio tape for animals, and I have also completed this course and use the kinesiotape very often to extend my treatments. I was amazed at the results I saw on the internet at the Angelique site, and wanted to know how to apply this! What animal influenced you the most growing up? We did have rabbits and cats, but I was allergic to them, so that was not for long. When my husband and I starting living together, we dit get our first bull terrier, Sharky! What animals do you currently own? We now have 4 bull terriers , all bred at our place. 3 female and 1 one. What makes your animal bodywork practice stand out? I believe that my practice stand out because : I take the time for the owners, the dog, I listen and summarize at the end of the consultation what has happened to the dog during the treatment. In addition, I am always available for questions, comments, and above all, I like doing it, I love my work, and certainly when people experience the differences in the welfare of the dog. I never had a day that I did not feel like going to the practice! What message would you like to share with perspective clients? Do not wait until you have seen all the vets, specialists, but give acupressure, cranio sacral work and all related an opportunity. Who knows, the alternative medicine can achieve much more than you thought. I have more than enough examples!! What message would you like to share with others who are thinking about pursing a career in animal bodywork? Follow your heart, learn as if it is your last day, take everything with you that other already established teachers tell you, and make it your own, and your practice will flourish.Practice, read, learn, ask, and again and again !!
