Name: Kim Youngblood
Location: Greenfield, Indiana, USA Certifications through Angel's Animals: Animal Neuro-myofascial Release Technique When did you decide that you wanted to work with animals? I have had animals my entire life and always saved strays, birds or anything that needed help. People would always bring their animals to me to help care for them...I have never not had an animal in my life and they have always been a part of me. In 2013 I decided to work with my daughter in animal massage therapy. It was our goal to help change the lives of animals in a natural way and assisting the body to heal itself. After seeing how an equine massage therapist helped my daughter's horse through a trying time of Emphysema I knew this was something I wanted to be a part of. What animal influenced you the most growing up? My Newfoundland Kiowa. She was my first Newfoundland that I did confirmation, water rescue, carting as well as breeding. She was my heart dog for sure. What animals do you currently own? Darla is my 9 year old "Bug" Boston Terrier/Pug who is all things drama, Will is my 16 year old DSH cat who is a complete lovebug, Sage is my 25 year old Paint horse who loves to eat and be needy and my flock of laying hens who are probably the most normal of all my critters, ha! What makes your animal bodywork practice stand out? Our mission is to show people that you can help heal your animal naturally and holistically. While there is a time and a place for traditional medicine you can do so much with a natural approach. Many times we are the last resort, owners have tried all avenues and they come to us for a miracle. We hope to change this way of thinking and instead use as a first option when the animal is showing initial signs of arthritis or after surgery for rehabilitation. We always advise a veterinary evaluation first and clearance from them before working on the animal to make sure we collaborate and work as one. We have an all natural store in addition to our massage practice where we have all US sourced products such as but not limited to treats, food, collars, leashes, harnesses, supplements, beds and more. We carry many products that give back and help women get out of human trafficking. We base our business in the Lord and keep Him at the helm over anything else...he guides us in all that we do and say. We love being able to show pet owners how natural pet health can be affordable, educational, simple, welcoming and exciting. What message would you like to share with perspective clients? Give natural animal health care a try! Holistic options are a great approach in keeping your pet healthy at a young age and if your pet is dealing with health concerns, it can be excellent to help the body heal itself. I will always be honest and open with you about my thoughts and opinions...your pet is my number one priority. What message would you like to share with others who are thinking about pursing a career in animal bodywork? You must first have a passion for animals, respect their feelings and moods, be patient with them and their owners. Be prepared to do a lot of continuing education...you will never be done learning. Be open to new things and pushing yourselves for more than you ever thought possible. It is extremely rewarding and many of our clients have become very close friends. Getting my Animal Neuro-Myofascial Release certification through Angel's Animals (Dr. Barbara) was life changing. The course was well laid out and her information was thorough and she is always there for any questions which was just what I needed. I cannot recommend any of her programs enough and I will be taking more courses in the future.
